Despite the fact that Premier League giants Tottenham currently sit fifth in the table, a whopping 20 points behind leaders Manchester City, many people still view Mauricio Pochettino’s side as the most realistic challengers to Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut.

It perhaps would have been interesting to note that the notion took a slight dent after Spurs’ 2-2 with Rochdale in the FA Cup at the weekend, if it hadn’t been for the fact that City were defeated by 2013 FA Cup-winners Wigan Athletic.

In truth Tottenham are still a long way off being able to go toe-to-toe with the Cityzens across a whole season, despite all the brilliant work being done by Pochettino and his players. With that in mind, big name signings are required in the summer to make the step up.

Watford duo Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure are the men who could be tasked with pushing Spurs into title-winning territory, according to the Watford Observer, and the North London club will reportedly have to shell out £50m for the pair.

The Hornets stars have been in fine form this season, contributing to Watford’s impressive attacking record, despite their inability to defend. Richarlison has contributed five goals and four assists from the wing, while Doucoure has seven goals and two assists from midfield.
